Meloxicam is an effective anti-inflammatory drug used in a variety of species including rodents. Meloxicam MD’s are highly palatable and encourage appetite post-operatively promoting a more rapid recovery versus other conventional methods. They are an ideal pain-free alternative to stressful and injurious post-operative injections. Meloxicam MD’s can be customized to include antibiotics such as Baytril to provide both medications easily and affordably.
For best acceptance, introduce Bio-Serv’s placebo or MD Tablets 1-2 days prior to surgery. Feed one MD tablet per rat per day to provide the daily medication dose and nutritional supplement. Place tablets at cage floor level for ease of access by the animal. Standard feed should remain in feed hopper.
The Precious Gem was developed exclusively for Bio-Serv as a replacement for the discontinued Booda Yapple. It is made of polyurethane, which makes it simple to clean and more durable than the rubber Booda Yapple. The enrichment device is suitable for multiple species. Dogs enjoy the texture, Rabbits are intrigued by the color and Primates enjoy foraging for treats placed in the center. This is a toy, which allows for versatility in its use to prevent boredom in the animals. Freeze it in PRANG or slather it with peanut butter, and sprinkle seeds, dried fruit, ground food, or foraging crumbles inside. The Precious Gem is a versatile product as it promotes several natural animal behaviors including foraging, playing, gnawing and exploration, which are essential to good animal health.
